When Brent Piltz of Albury, New South Wales, hits the AFL footy field, people take stock of his skill, stature and steadfast faith in the Lord.
A favourite son in the Ovens and Murray AFL Football League, Brent was saluted by his team mates, supporters and opponents as he hung up his boots at the end of the 2011 season, having played 217 games for the North Albury Hoppers.
Brent had been a long-time player of AFL football. He started at twelve years of age in his hometown Henty, advanced in 2001 to play one year for the Sydney Swans and then returned to Myrtleford and North Albury clubs.
At St John's Lutheran Church, Jindera, he's a deacon and lay reader and, alongside his wife April, also a youth leader. Brent is a man of faith, with an unwavering trust in his Lord and respect for all those with whom he comes in contact.
